Every dermal filler procedure is carried out by trained specialists who ensure the safety and welfare of all patients is at the heart of every treatment they perform.

Dermal fillers are an injectable treatment and may incur some minor trauma to the skin, which can cause some slight discomfort. The needle that is used is very fine, however, to keep this to a minimum and the option to have a numbing cream applied beforehand will be offered.

Your dermal filler treatment site may feel a little tender for a few hours, following treatment, along with some redness, swelling bruising. 2-3 days may need to be allowed for any sensitivity to settle, but this should not interfere with your ability to continue with normal daily tasks.

Your rejuvenated appearance should be noticeable straight away and will last for around 9–12 months, depending on your individual response to the treatment.

Aside from some initial redness and swelling, dermal fillers rarely cause more serious complications. These will be discussed at the pre-treatment consultation and can include: infection, lumpy skin, minor scarring and blocked blood vessels. Joanne Willcox Clinics are available to answer all your questions or concerns, before, during and after treatment.
